Backup Woes May Be Clue To Problem

Q: Why is my computer slow to execute keystroke commands? I use Mozilla Firefox as my Web browser and Carbonite to back up files. Quite often when typing in Microsoft Word 2007, keystrokes do not immediately show on the screen. Also, when I want to page up or down, the computer hesitates before responding. I use Google for searches but even that is slow to respond to keystrokes at times. This doesn't happen all the time but it's happening more and more. It seems to happen more when Carbonite's message at the bottom right of my monitor reads, "Backing Up In Progress." Is Carbonite the problem? How do I correct this small but annoying problem?

A: It's entirely possible that your backup program is slowing down your applications. But that may not be the only cause. If you have enough memory and disk space available in your computer, even a backup program should be able to do its job without noticeably affecting performance. So while the backup program might be the immediate cause of your problem, the underlying cause is low system resources.

Does a HDTV indoor antenna allow you to get ALL the stations that Directv offers?

With an antenna, you'll only be able to get your local broadcast channels (NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, CW, PBS, Telemundo, Univision, Ion, MNT, and any local independent stations).

No ESPN, MTV, ComedyCentral, CNN, Fox News, etc.

But maybe that's enough. Free is pretty attractive right now.

NO

As the other responder said, NO!

The only channels you might be able to get with an indoor antenna (and only if you are close enough) are your local HD broadcast channels.

What channels can I catch using indoor HDTV antenna?

No you will not get the Disney Channel, it is a subscription channel that your local cable or satellite provider pays for. BUT there are alot of HD broadcast channels that you can get. NJ is a big place, so a blanket statement wont' work, but in or near metro areas you will get many more channels than out in the boonies.
