Great Product, March 8, 2009
By Alfadebt - See all my reviews
I had this product for about 25? years until it finally wore out. I was pleased to find it is still manufactured and just ordered one.
I found it to be effective, gentle on the vinyl and virually bulletproof.
It also has a handy self-cleaning device built in and the fluid is injected from the rear, eliminating the problem of spotty wetting.
I doubt there is a better product in this price range

AMAZING, June 26, 2009
By Rebecca Smith (Okinawa Japan) - See all my reviews
I started to collect vinyl records recently and I had bought a whole bunch from garage sales and goodwill's. Most of my records were extremly dirty and needed to be cleaned ASAP! So I went to look for the DISCwasher because I heard it was the best, but when I researched I found it not to be as great as the one back in day. So I kept browsing and found this gem. I had so many records that popped and even skipped and now they play like brand new!! Sooo worth the money!!!!

Outstanding basic record cleaner., April 8, 2009
By S. Good (Seattle) - See all my reviews
I got this to replace a Discwasher D4 that I lost; when I went to look at new Discwashers they simply aren't as well-made as they used to be... So, I got this instead. It's a very nice high-quality Japanese unit; materials and workmanship are really surprising for the price and there's absolutely nothing cheap or chintzy about it. It has a nice, clean look and a pleasant feel. There's a tray with a built-in scraper brush to clean the unit, a very nice touch. As far as I'm concerned, this is the record cleaner to get.

OK but not so easy to use and wastes cleaning fluid, August 1, 2009
By The Chuckster "LP Collector" (Punta Gorda, FL) - See all my reviews
I bought this to supplement a very old Discwasher, which still worked fine. The Audio-Technica cleaner is tougher to use. It's hard to get the cleaning fluid (supplied with the kit) into the little holes of the cleaner brush without spilling it over the top of the brush. You also have to use a specific amount to load the brush, and if you don't use that to clean multiple records within, say 30 minutes, the fluid dries up and is wasted. So cleaning one record a day with this brush doesn't make sense. There is only enough fluid supplied to load the brush 16 times. I've tried using lesser amounts of fluid, and the brush doesn't get damp.
A suggestion to clean very dirty LPs bought at garage sales: A quick rinse with lukewarm water under the faucet gets off the loose grit; then use a very small amount of normal dish detergent to remove grease, oils, and fingerprints, gently wiping the entire surface with the flat part of your fingertips. Do this quickly and rinse immediately and thoroughly, and then dry the label area with a paper towel ASAP (I've never damages a label doing this). Then wipe the record parallel to the grooves, gently, with a soft, lint-free paper towel. Finally, holding the record by the edges, fan it up and down in air to dry most of the rest of the water off, and complete the drying on your turntable with a record cleaning brush like the Audio-Technica. And finally, for very dirty records that still have stubborn grease or fingerprints, I use lens-cleaning spray made for glasses, spraying it directly on the record, rubbing back and forth with my fingertips, then cleaning it off parallel to the grooved with tissue. I have restored some very dirty records this way with amazing results.
